Ultum Nature Systems Controsoil is a premium aquarium soil from Japan, crafted from natural soil and volcanic ash. Picking the right substrate is key for a thriving planted tank, it's not just about lush plants but also balancing the water for your fish and shrimp buddies. Controsoil keeps alkaline water pH below 7, perfect for Caridina shrimp and most tropical fish. Say goodbye to those pesky algae outbreaks common with other soils during tank setup; Controsoil minimizes ammonia spikes so you can enjoy a clearer, healthier tank faster. Many users even add shrimp or fish within 24 hours—though we still suggest a proper tank cycle for best results!
