Mountain Equipment, Baltoro Jacket - Men's, Chili Red, M

The Mountain Equipment Baltoro Jacket looks like a standard lightweight down layer, but inside it’s built with a unique dual-layer offset baffle system that eliminates cold spots and traps warmth far better than traditional narrow-baffle designs. Combined with an ultrathin Radiant Barrier that reflects heat back toward the body, the Baltoro delivers a surprising boost of insulation without a major weight penalty—perfect for long ski tours, alpine routes, or frigid belays. A Drilite Loft shell provides windproof, weather-resistant protection with a PFAS-free DWR finish, keeping spindrift and light snow at bay. The Mountain HC Hood fits over a helmet yet adjusts securely when worn alone, while the high collar seals out gusts on exposed ridgelines. Thoughtful pocket placement ensures easy access with a harness or pack on, and the whole jacket packs into its own hand pocket with a clip loop for streamlined carry. From remote mountaineering missions to crisp rock climbs where friction is prime, the Baltoro balances warmth, weight, and packability in a way few down jackets can.
