Killer Kev

Laid off during the 2008 collapse, Kevin Kerry scrambles to keep his family intact until he finally lands a bookkeeping job at JD Customs, a Pittsburgh jewelry store with a sleek showroom up front and considerably more interesting arrangements in the back. The money is modest at first, barely enough to justify the commute. The boss, Johnny DelGatto, is charismatic and rough around the edges. The crew that moves through the place doesn't look like they're there to browse engagement rings. What starts as straightforward bookkeeping quietly deepens into something far more dangerous, and far more lucrative. Cash that can't be explained. Shipments that aren't on any invoice. Errands that everybody expects him to complete without asking. Men who solve problems in ways that don't involve paperwork. The deeper Kevin gets pulled into the DelGatto world, the better the money gets, and the more impossible it becomes to pretend he doesn't know exactly what he's a part of. He gets the Cadillac and access he dreamed of when he was broke. He gets a front-row seat to an operation built on loyalty, violence, and the code of silence.By the time the walls start closing in, Kevin is forced to reckon with everything he risked: his marriage, his daughter, his freedom, for a world that was never going to let him walk away clean.
