Fancy a pet that's a bit different?
Isopods make fascinating pets as you watch them explore their world. These industrious little creatures happily go about their day recycling organic matter and are very active. Dairy Cow isopods are a fancy variety as they have pale bodies with dark, decorative splotches, like dairy cows!
This complete kit includes:
- A culture of dairy cow isopods
- A sturdy plastic enclosure
- Natural leaf litter
- Coconut fibre substrate
- A coconut hide
- An artificial plant (for decoration)
Place your isopod enclosure out of direct sunlight at room temperature. Keep one end of the enclosure lightly damp and feed sparingly with vegetable matter, kitchen veg scraps are perfect! Your dairy cow isopods, once happy, will even breed meaning you'll start to see the babies emerging as your colony grows.
Due to their ease of care, these make great pets for kids!
