Black Diamond's Raven Ice Axe is fine-tuned with mountaineers' comfort and ability in mind. This climbing pick's dual-density grip, lightweight construction, and trapezoidal cross-section relieve users of extraneous strain while scaling projects. The investment-cast, one-piece stainless-steel head is able to plunge and bite into ice thanks to a curved profile and rigid teeth. That means climbers get a secure self-arresting. And the Slider Leash provides a bit more security and freedom than expected of a regular wrist leash. From the Raven, you can expect the kind of quality needed for more daring and inclement routes.
