- Alibertia Belize is large, slow growing shrub that produces a stunning display of pure white, fragrant flowers. The star-shaped blooms emerge in clusters, providing a brilliant contrast against the deep green foliage and filling the air with a sweet, delightful scent that attracts butterflies and bees.
- Suggested uses are as a low hedge or mass planting, as a mid-layer or background in layered beds, incorporated into mixed perennial beds, or as an accent or large potted plant.
- Care: When mature, plant in fertile, well-draining soil or potting media in a full sun to lightly shaded area. Water as needed to maintain consistent soil moisture, but avoid overwatering. Feed a good quality, slow-release, bloom-boosting fertilizer with the initial planting and annually in spring thereafter. Prune after flowering to maintain size and shape.
- Indoor Growing: This tropical requires the full spectrum of light 4 to 6 hours daily, high humidity, and warm temperatures with at least 10°F day/night differential, so it is not well-suited for the average indoor growing space.
- Climate: Alibertia Belize is a tropical plant and is recommended for growing in USDA Zones 9, 10, and 11. Protection from cold temperatures is required in all zones for the longest life, best appearance, and earliest flowering. Note that Zone recommendations are based on average temperatures and do not take factors such as humidity, rainfall, or day/night temperature variations into consideration. Every growing environment has unique challenges
